School Horses

Nova Stables owns a few school horses available for lessons. Students may also trailer their own horses in for lessons.

Jelly Bean

Jelly Bean is a 16 hand TBx Belgian that came to live with us when he was about 8 years old. He is very gentle and calm and perfect for beginner riders. He is also very well schooled in more advanced movements such as shoulder-in, half-pass, traver, renver, pirouette, piaffer and spanish walk. Jelly Bean is also keen on practicing his tricks with students, especially rolling the ball, getting on the pedestal, and bowing. Jelly Bean is also known as "the big red sun in the center of my universe".

Fire Ridge Mirage

Mirage is a 1999 Morgan mare. She is Jutta's horse and she allows me to use her for lessons. Mirage came to live with us when she was 4 years old. She is very well schooled in shoulder-in, half-pass, traver, and renver. She is learning piaffer and spanish walk, as well as pirouette. Mirage is an excellent horse for a beginner with some experience up through more advanced riders.

Ginger Charlotte

Ginger is an 11 hand pony. She belongs to Kylee and Katreena Miller, the Wakefield's granddaughters. She is excellent at teaching beginners how to brush, pick feet, lead, lunge, and do tricks. She is also pretty good at long lining for students who would like to learn to long line. Ginger gives pony rides and goes on slow little trails, but she no longer gives riding lessons.
